Join the Rose City Rollers for an evening of movie magic under the stars! October 8th – 11th Rose City Rollers will be screening the Portland Premiere of The Dark Divide!

The Dark Divide is based on the true story of renowned butterfly expert Dr. Robert Pyle’s (David Cross) perilous 1995 journey across one of America’s largest undeveloped wildlands. At the urging of his dying wife Thea (Debra Messing), the shy author finds himself in over his head on an epic, life-changing expedition through Washington’s Gifford Pinchot National Forest in search of new species of butterflies. Over the course of his six-week adventure Pyle battles self-doubt, the grueling trail, and the people and creatures who call this forest home. And, somewhere deep in the heart of The Dark Divide, he makes a discovery that challenges everything he knows about the natural world. With David Koechner, Cameron Esposito, Gary Farmer and Patterson Hood. Music by The Avett Brothers, Giants in the Trees featuring Krist Novoselić, The National Reserve, Samantha Crane, Bombadil, and more.

We haven’t had the opportunity yet to break in the new whip at the drive-in since our beloved Sue B. Ru was stolen straight from the driveway by dastardly pirates. This would be the perfect opportunity, I can’t let it flutter by!

So happy that the RCR are back in action. I took my mom for her bday last year and we had a blast. If I win I’m totally taking her again.

This sounds so fun, I want to be able to do something cool for my husband’s 36th birthday even though there’s limited safe options right now and this seems like just the ticket! (ooh even worked a pun in there!)

Would love to take my sister the environmental education teacher to this. She spent so many springs and summers out and about in the wilderness in Oregon, Washington, and Montana for the Nature Conservancy and Forest Service. She’d get such a kick out of the scenery.
