The Moth is true stories, told live and without notes. The Moth celebrates the ability of stories to honor both the diversity and commonality of human experience, and to satisfy a vital human need for connection. It seeks to present recognized storytellers among established and emerging writers, performers and artists and to encourage storytelling among communities whose stories often go unheard.
Literary Arts is committed to keeping audience members, artists, volunteers, and staff members safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. For any events or classes that take place in-person through the end of 2021 we will require staff, volunteers, and audience members to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and wear a mask. Read full policy here.
This is a live in-person event only. No live-streaming or view from home option will be available for this event.

Huge fan of the moth and used to go to the weekly shows but haven’t done so since Covid! This would be such an amazing way to get back to it!

Love The Moth!
Several years ago, back BEFORE the pandemic, I had the joy of attending The Moth live show at the Scnitz with my entire book club. We had a wonderful time! Our book club stopped meeting, but we are all still friends. I would love to take one of them with me to this show this year if I won.
I would love to go to this! It’s been way too long since I’ve seen a live moth show!
Ahh pre-pandemic, I would see The Moth any time it came to Holocene. I would love to see it on this stage with such a big audience!

Listen weekly on the radio.
I’m attracted like a Moth to a flame! (Sorry.)

The Moth stories are what we need to hear right now – but to hear and to aid in our healing as a community – which we have not had the opportunity to do for so many months. Let’s gather around the fire and tell the stories that remind us who we are – as individuals and as the Portland community!
Would love to be considered! I was able to go onstage on one of their events in Philadelphia. Would love to go again
First found out about The Moth after randomly deciding to buy their book last month. I fell in love with the concept and with the stories and literally shouted when I found out they were coming to Portland! I love the moth because stories are what connects us, what makes us human, and gives us the empathy to understand others. ❤️
I love the Moth! My favorite podcast, would love to be there live.
We would love this so much! We’ve not had much of a date night since pre-pandemic days….this would be a lovely gift!!
