The Homes of Tomorrow Today Tour presented by Portland General Electric returns April 19-21, 2024 to showcase newly constructed homes throughout the region demonstrating the best in sustainable building practices, comfort, and durability. These homes are setting the benchmark for how future homes will be built – reaching and exceeding environmental demands and buyers’ needs.

An idea years in the making from the Home Building Association of Greater Portland’s (HBA) Home Performance Council (HPC), the Homes of Tomorrow Today Tour connects the community with innovative builders leading the industry to advance energy-efficient, yet durable, cost-competitive, and comfortable homes in the greater Portland region and beyond. HBA’s Home Performance Council (HPC) members include builders, subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners passionate about producing better living environments through sustainable and energy-efficient building practices.

A goal of the tour is to provide a deeper understanding of available home efficiency and sustainability options in today’s housing market. All homes received an Energy Performance Score from Energy Trust of Oregon and will display how they compare to homes built to code or typical existing homes. The lower the score, the better in this case. Some of the homes will have scores as low as zero which means they produce as much energy as they consume each year. Homes on the tour also meet special certification standards for various industry accreditations including Earth Advantage’s programs.

The Homes of Tomorrow Today Tour is presented by Portland General Electric and sponsored by Energy Trust of Oregon and Earth Advantage. The tour is produced by the Home Building Association of Greater Portland, producers of the NW Natural Street of Dreams and the Portland Spring Home & Garden Show.
