Celebrate some of the zoo’s finest feathered friends—and migratory birds everywhere!

May 8th is World Migratory Bird Day and the Oregon Zoo will celebrate with some of its residents.

Discover which species of migratory birds live at the Oregon Zoo and how the zoo helps them thrive and survive: the green-winged teal, the bufflehead, the ruddy duck and the northern shoveler, along with the California condor, the golden eagle and the western screech owl, among others.

Schedule

Noon to 3:00 p.m.: Biologists from the US Fish and Wildlife Service and conservation experts will be in the Nature Exploration Station leading visitors through educational activities and games, all designed to be fun for the entire family create a better world for migratory birds through simple, everyday actions.

There will also be keeper talks and opportunities to learn more about our feathered friends throughout the day.
