Mary Undercoffer-Gallop
I’m an artist. I have been living in and making art in the Portland area for over 20 years. I like to paint landscapes, cityscapes, scenes and portraits. The contrast of light and dark, contrasting colors and reflective light are common in my work. Sunsets and dramatic skies show landscape and scenery in the way that I like to paint them. I first knew that I wanted to be a painter as a teen when I visited a Monet exhibition at the national gallery. I really admire Impressionism and Expressionism and I favor narrative styles. I am inspired by other artists including my art mentor Glen Larsen. Other themes and inspirations in my work come from the people in my life and the beauty of the natural world. I’ve recently made the switch from acrylic to oil paint so I’ve been experimenting with this new medium and really like the richness that it has. A technique that has been working well for me is starting with acrylic and finishing with oils. I’ve found this to be really efficient and helps me to be more prolific. For this show, I chose “Windows” as a theme. Whether looking inward or outward, over time we are always looking from one space to another space. I wanted to feature some people from my life in interior spaces. I also have some pieces that are looking outward into a landscape.

Nicholas Orr
was raised in Jamaica and Florida. He graduating from college with a BFA in illustration in Detroit. He moved a few times after leaving Detroit and settled in Portland to continue his illustration career and get involved in the local comic book industry.

In his richly figurative work, Nicholas focuses on making his viewer connect with his art on an emotional level. He create a mood, a feeling, a fantasy of what the world could be. With an emphasis on the communities of color. He hopes to work on projects that helps promote a broader change in our idea of what we see as different.

Summer Hatfield
is an artist, art educator, and all-around creative person based in Portland, Oregon. In addition to her paintings and gallery shows, she is also a licensed tattoo artist. She has painted many murals, designed band flyers and record album covers, made props for films and theater, designed sets, worked in carpentry, drawn storyboards, shot and edited videos, and just about everything in between. She is always open for commissions. Summer also teaches drawing, painting, 2D design, 3D design, Portfolio Preparation, and Art Appreciation at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon, and at Clark Community College in Vancouver, Washington. She has a BFA from Portland State University, a Master’s degree in multimedia journalism from the University of Oregon, and a Master’s degree in art education from Portland State University.
