Portland in the News: Graffiti No More, Winning Blooms, Speeding Tickets & More | June 18, 2026

2,014 beautiful blooms were judged at the Lloyd Center mall this month. This will be the last Spring Rose Show held there as the mall prepares to close this August.

Speaking of changes, the graffiti has been removed from the exterior of the Gordon’s Fireplace building in NE Portland. Developers plan to convert the historic structure into housing for homeless veterans.

And you might want to have a lighter foot on the gas pedal driving in Portland. The city has issued 69,000 speeding tickets since November 2025 after installing more speed cameras.
