In honor of Oregon’s infamous attempt to remove a dead whale from a beach in 1970, Florence is celebrating Exploding Whale Day all week.
The Willamette Valley Ornament Hunt is hiding 200 wooden ornaments along 24 trails across the Willamette and Umpqua national forests.
And one of the world’s largest dark sky sanctuary is located in the Oregon Outback just Southwest of Bend.
