Portland in the News: Baby Ducks, Horses Along 82nd, Flower Moon & More | April 30, 2026
Residents of a Milwaukie senior living facility were visited by a mama duck who birthed a brood of ducklings in a balcony. Residents later followed mom (Rosie) and a cat carrier filled with her babies to safety at a nearby pond.
More animals in unexpected places could be seen at the 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade this past weekend including horses trotting down the usually busy thoroughfare.
And one more rare sighting occurs Friday night: the May “Flower Moon” will be glowing over Portland.
