Will be directly responsible for the daily guest services on all Portland Spirit boats for public and private events. The position will be directly responsible for all related styles of services, including, but not limited to, tableside, banquet and cocktailing. The main focus will be to ensure customers receive a high level of service and true customer satisfaction. Flexible schedule, with availability on evenings, weekends and holidays a must.

DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Involved in all facets of customer services and amenities provided to guests
  • Adheres to side work, set-up and close down procedures and ensures ship cleanliness
  • Maintains a high level of customer service
  • Adheres to uniform policy and tip policy, monitors product costs, and initiates teamwork
  • Communicates with the Cruise Director as to cruise details as it pertains to service and photography
  • Involved with entertaining guests as directed by the Entertainment Manager
  • Responsible for daily record-keeping and handling money outlined by the Accounting Department and Service Management
  • Assists Cruise Director on duty in capacity needed, including, but not limited to, the greeting and seating of guests and service of customers
  • Assists the Bar Manager in other duties to enhance the whole Portland Spirit operation
  • Assist in marine operations as necessary, including, but not limited to, safety drills, ship cleanliness and deckhand duties
  • Display a constant awareness of one’s surroundings in regards to safety, cleanliness, and repairs
  • Assist with selling photographs and gift shop operations
  • Enroll in random D.O.T. drug testing schedule

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Restaurant or catering background preferred (Food Handlers Card and OLCC required)
  • Entertainment background preferred but not required
  • Wine, alcohol and beer knowledge desired
  • Able to carry, push or pull up to 50lbs
  • Ability to repeatedly bend, lift, climb stairs, push wheelchairs and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to work as a team player
  • Experience in cash handling and understanding basic math
  • Highly skilled in relating to people

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Schedule varies with season
  • Up to 40 hours per week
  • Including weekends and holidays
