We are seeking an organized, self-starter to fill the position of Association Account Specialist. This position enjoys a high-level of contact with our members through meetings, events, and workshops.
Who are we? We are the Merchants Exchange, a 140-year-old organization that plays a pivotal role in the Columbia River Maritime Industry. We are a small team located in downtown Portland, working together to provide exceptional services to our members.
This position is responsible for the following:
- Organizing, planning and executing events.
- Organizing meetings and facilities arrangements, training sessions, seminars and conferences.
- Providing administrative services to include correspondence and record keeping, meeting attendance, and preparation of minutes for meetings.
- Preparing marketing material and producing newsletters, reports, statistics reports and bulletins.
- Ensuring association websites are current and accurate.
- Ensuring data and correct contact management software database programs are maintained.
This role typically requires an Associate degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, event planning, and administrative support. Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to be patient and professional with interactions is essential. Knowledge of the agricultural community and intermodal transportation is helpful but we are willing to train!
You should have above average skills using Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, in addition to website maintenance and Constant Contact (or similar contact management software) database knowledge. Skills using Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, and Photoshop is a plus for creating forms, flyers, annual reports, and brochures.
The Association Account Specialist position is full time and works on-site in our office, Monday-Friday. This position is non-exempt with a starting pay range of $27.00-$30.00 per hour depending on experience. This position is eligible for medical, vision, and dental insurance, a flexible spending account, long-term disability, life insurance, and 401(k) plan with an employer contribution. Other benefits include sick leave, vacation, and paid holidays.
