Join Word is Bond for the premiere of our documentary, The Black Stars, on Thursday, January 11, at the historic Hollywood Theatre.

The film centers around eight Black men we took to Ghana for a two-week leadership expedition this past summer of 2023. The documentary sheds light on the experiences of young Black men growing up in the Pacific Northwest and the importance of investment in Black youth leadership.

The world premiere will be a family-friendly cultural extravaganza hosted by Ken Boddie and includes drumming, dancing, musical performances, and a post-film panel.

Stephen Green, Alonzo Chadwick, Caleb YunginCED Dixon, Dr. Renee Mitchel, and the Sebé Kan Dance Troupe are all part of the event. This is a benefit event to help support our $50K goal to support our trip with our next set of leaders going to Ghana in June 2024.
