Trio Subtonic is a groove heavy power trio that blends genre bending funk with slow burning underground soul jazz. Led by keyboardist Galen Clark, Subtonic explores a coalescence of rock, soul, funk and jazz that simultaneously draws in listeners and pushes boundaries. Creating a sonic footprint reserved for more than just three people, Subtonic delivers soulful grooves, expansive improvisations and a deep pocket that compels audiences to try dance moves they didn’t know they had.
From coffee house gigs at fifteen to chart-topping success with the Tom Grant Band in the 90s, world tours with two-time Grammy Award winner Diane Schuur and contemporary jam-bands, Dan Balmer brings fire and heart every time he plays the guitar. Dan has performed or toured with Joey DeFrancesco, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Les McCann, Javon Jackson and Karrin Allyson, Benny Golson, Jeff Hamilton, Gerald Clayton, John Clayton, Terell Stafford, Ingrid Jensen, Duduka da Fonseca, Kendrick Scott, Taylor Eigsti, Buddy De Franco, Bruce Forman and countless others. $10
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the rapid increase in cases and the emergence of the more transmissible Delta variant, all shows at the Goodfoot will require proof of vaccination. Be prepared to either show a vaccine card or a photo of your card. The name on the card must match the name on your ID. We do this to protect our staff, the artists and you. Proof of vaccine is NOT required in the upstairs pub or at the outside tables. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Would love to see Dan Balmer.
I wanna go pleease
Should be a very creative collaboration. It’ll be great to see both Dan (memories from the ol’ Jimmy Mak’s days) and Trio S. (haven’t seen since the last Mississippi Street Fair I made it to) again. Hopefully more venues will rise out of the ashes in a post-covid revitalization for our great local jazz (as well as other music genres) musicians to perform at.
Would love to win tickets to this for tonight!!! I don’t see it on their website though?
