Olen candidly describes himself as “overthinking, oversharing, and overwhelmed,” and he’s let it all out in his debut EP. “Only recently have I felt more comfortable in my own skin – and I’m still working on it!” he admits. “Music is a way that I feel comfortable with myself and it’s how I can relate to the world around me. Getting to make music with people I love, and then getting to perform it in front of people I love… that’s it. I’m just trying to be comfortable being myself!” With Olen, the artist reminds us that self-discovery is ongoing and ever-present, rather than an end in itself.

“I hope that people can listen to a song and know that it’s okay to not have everything figured out, and know that we’re all just trying our best. If someone can come away from the songs feeling good about themselves and who they are, that would make me feel good. These songs are me trying to figure myself out. We’re all just works in progress!”

Without a doubt, Olen’s debut EP is the work of a late bloomer coming into full bloom.
