I’ll never forget being 17, working at the local radio station and hearing Janis sing, “At 17” good the first time. I may or may not have been stoned. I may or may not have played it repeatedly and bawled my head off once I was alone…ah…

Saw her back in the 70s, she opened for Harry Chapin. Since this is her last tour, it would be wonderful to see her now, and the evolution of her performance and music.

“At Seventeen” spoke to so many of us and if we’re honest, still does. Janis Ian’s lovely face is forever ingrained in my mind for all the hours I stared at the cover of “Between The Lines” and sang along with Janis and felt such a sisterhood, even at age 13!

I would love to attend because I bought Janis Ian’s first album as a freshman in college and would love to have the opportunity to share her journey through these many decades. I wish that I could afford to purchase a ticket to this concert, but I can’t. Thanks for the chance to be there to celebrate her in person!

Janis Ian is one of the great, underrated, undervalued songwriters of her time.

TOC is one of the great, underrated, undervalued music venues in our town.

Put those two together? YES PLEASE! I would love to attend this one!
