Duo Violão + One is a choro and samba trio with acclaimed guitar master Rogerio Souza on 7-string guitar (Paulinho da Viola, Ney Matagrosso, Baden Powell, etc), Edinho Gerber (Som Brasil, Renato Anesi Trio, Ben Lamar-Gay, etc,) and percussionist Ami Molinelli (Grupo Falso Baiano, Jovino Santos-Neto, Kenny Washington, etc.) who are returning for a live tour in September-October of 2022. Our 2020 tour celebrating the release of our album “A Historia do Choro” was cut short because of the pandemic and we are excited to return to live audiences. We kept busy releasing a video project titled, “Raizes de Choro e Samba.” which was a collaboration between musicians in the Bay Area and Rio de Janeiro in 2021 and were also selected and featured at the Chamber Music America showcase this past January.
