Join us on February 26th to celebrate Black History Month with a tribute to honor the spirit, work and words of Martin Luther King Jr. in a SELMA BRIDGE REENACTMENT! There will be an easy 2 mile walk / hike in Forest Park in remembrance of Black History Month.

Walk, Hike, March Through History begins promptly at 9am at the foot of the St. Johns Bridge. At 9am, join us for a short presentation on the civil rights movement, Bloody Sunday and the march of Martin Luther King Jr. from Selma to Montgomery and the dramatic crossing of the Edmund Pettus Bridge.

Pastor Edward Williams from Mt. Olivet Baptist Church will deliver a spirited sermon and a gospel ensemble from Mt. Olivet Baptist Church will perform Go Tell It on the Mountain and symbolically lead us across the St. Johns Bridge. On the other side of the bridge, hip-hop artist Mic Crenshaw will perform his own artistic interpretation of Go Tell It on the Mountain.

Hot chocolate, tea, and coffee will be provided by Crema Coffee + Bakery. Marshall Frady’s Martin Luther King Jr. A life in paperback will available free to the first 100 participants!
