Uncle Lucius is an Austin, Texas-based roots rock/Americana band known for blending classic rock, blues, country, and soul with a distinctive Texas groove and jam-band energy. The band formed in the mid-2000s (around 2005–2006), starting with co-founder Kevin Galloway (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) who moved to Austin from East Texas in 2002 to pursue music. He initially teamed up with bassist Hal Vorpahl, later adding guitarist Mike Carpenter. The core lineup grew to include drummer Josh Greco and keyboardist Jon Grossman.

They released several critically acclaimed albums during their first run, building a devoted following with signature songs like “Keep the Wolves Away” (which later gained massive exposure via Yellowstone and achieved RIAA gold/platinum status) and “The Light.” The band toured extensively, from local Texas spots to international stages, known for electrifying live performances.
