Portland Cello Project is a genre-defying cello ensemble known for reimagining everything from Bach to Beyoncé. Based in Portland, Oregon, the group has built a reputation for pushing the boundaries of classical instrumentation by bringing cello music to rock clubs, concert halls, and festivals across the country. Since its founding in 2006, PCP has collaborated with an eclectic range of artists and performed bold arrangements of hip-hop, pop, metal, and indie-rock, all through the lens of classical technique and adventurous orchestration. With a rotating cast of phenomenal cellists, the group blends tradition with experimentation to present concerts that are unexpected and alive.

Mixtape (cello + band) For their 20th season, PCP is celebrating with a series of Mixtape shows: crowd-sourced setlists of your favorites reimagined by our full cello band. Featuring fan submissions of songs from the 80s to early 00s grunge, alt-rock, and indie-pop scenes, this show is 100% arranged with love and nostalgia by our own moody musicians. Reminisce with the hits that made your mixtapes and burned CDs so epic, whether you were listening to Prince and Stevie Wonder, Simple Minds and Europe, Ozzy and Metallica, or Radiohead and Soundgarden.

If I am selected as a winner, my promise to you is that I will consume three cello shots prior to the show. I’m a happy drinker who never resorts to violins.

This is exactly what I need to kick off my summer. I often think about how I wish I had taken cello lessons as a kid.
The Aladdin is my favorite venue and the food and drink are top notch.
Your tickets would go to great use if gifted to me.

Just yesterday I was talking about how I hated that I had to play the flute because I was assigned female at birth and all the women in the family played that same flute. I wanted the opportunity to play the cello, so this is a good “next best thing” ~
