Have you had a chance to experience life on board the Titanic? OMSI’s current feature exhibit, TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition, is a unique opportunity in Portland to explore one of history’s most unforgettable voyages. Featuring more than 100 authentic artifacts recovered from the ocean floor, the exhibition immerses visitors in the innovation, ambition, and tragedy of Titanic’s first and final journey.

Step back in time to April 1912 and assume the role of a passenger aboard the Ship. Experience cinematic visuals and audio reenactments that recreate the Ship’s grandeur and tragic end through the voices of passengers and crew. Personal items offer a powerful connection to the people whose stories continue to resonate more than a century later. See recreations of passengers’ accommodations, feel the icy temperature of the North Atlantic waters, and learn the fate of individuals who sailed on the Ship. An optional VR tour reveals historically accurate views of previously unseen areas of the Ship, and audio guides are available in multiple languages to enhance the visitor’s experience through reenactments based on stories from passengers and crew.

Designed for curious minds of all ages, TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition is both educational and deeply moving. Whether you are discovering the story for the first time or fulfilling a lifelong fascination, this unforgettable experience showcases the people, history, and legacy of the Titanic. Don’t miss it at OMSI!

I have been obsessed with the Titanic since I first saw the movie as a kid. I checked out the Titanic books so much at my elementary school library the librarian ordered more just for me. I can recite the movie backwards and WOULD LOVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THIS BEAUTIFUL EXHIBIT

    • Luisa Ortega on August 19, 2026 at 10:28 am

I would love to experience this exhibit through my son’s eyes. He is absolutely fascinated by the Titanic—he talks about it constantly and even spends his time playing two Titanic games: one where he builds the ship and another where he tries to save the passengers and crew. 🚢❤️ Seeing the recovered artifacts, discovering the real passengers’ stories, and imagining what life was like during Titanic’s four days at sea would make the history he is so fascinated by come alive. Winning these tickets would be an unforgettable surprise for him—and such a special memory for us to share together.

  19. Darklady on July 30, 2026 at 9:54 pm

It’s been a rough past four years. A friend died. My mom was diagnosed with dementia. Then my partner of 10 years died. I became my intellectually disabled sister’s legal guardian and have been living off my vast inheritance (ha) since mom died a week before I was married. Lots of change. It would be so nice to take a break and enjoy artifacts from a tragic mass casualty event before my parents were born. As a history major, this obviously fascinates me. As a former Catholic, death fascinates me. Oh — and I’ve never seen “Titanic” with Leo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, although I do know some people thought she looked “fat,” which is just insane. Being up close and personal with the ship’s personal treasures would be a treat and it might (might) convince me to watch the movie. Or not. Shall we find out?

  20. David on July 31, 2026 at 12:25 pm

Winning two tickets to the OMSI Titanic exhibit would be an unforgettable opportunity to step beyond the story I’ve loved on screen and experience history in a much more personal way. The movie Titanic first sparked my fascination with the ship—its grandeur, the people aboard, and the tragedy that continues to resonate more than a century later. Seeing authentic historical artifacts would bring that story to life in a way no film ever could.

  49. Alli on August 5, 2026 at 7:40 am

Would love to see this exhibit! I wasn’t allowed to watch the movie as a youth, so I didn’t dive into the world of Titanic until I was much older, decades later. Also, kind of random, if you are a data science student there is a titanic dataset that online programs like to use as a project example. This happened when I took some courses a few years ago. I’ve analyzed the data but would love to see the artifacts in person 🙂

History was my favorite subject in school, best vacation ever was my going to South Dakota, Montana and seeing where history was made, went to Chicago to see where Valentine’s Day massacre happened, there nothing there,it a parking lot, in Deadwood, went to a cemetery to see wild Bill Hickock’s grave, found out Potato Creek Johnny is buried close by,went to Crown Point Indiana last and stood in the very jail cell where he escaped from,

  78. Josiah on August 16, 2026 at 12:03 am

I haven’t been to OMSI in probably 15 years now. I have two little nephews that are full of ambition to learn about the world and all the whats, whys, and hows. I remember OMSI being a wonderful new world for me as a kid to create, ask questions, and experience interesting things. What better day is there than one to be able to see that same spark of curiosity in the young minds of my nephews. I would be honored to get the opportunity for a fun family day!

My husband and I visited the cemetery in Halifax of some the Titanic victims some years ago and would like to make a connection to some of victims with items they would have seen or had on that fateful cruise. It’s probably the most famous maritime disaster if not the most famous any type of disaster in history. I hope one day to make it to Belfast to see the starting point of the Titanic, but seeing this exhibition would be very educational and emotional to say the least.

  93. Jeni Miller on August 20, 2026 at 4:30 pm
