THE GETAWAY features films inspired by departure; these national and international films and filmmakers take us on journeys otherwise untold. Travel through Tokyo in Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation, then pull on a baseball cap and roam the wide-open roads of Paris, Texas with Harry Dean Stanton. Drift into the quiet existential landscapes of Iran in Taste of Cherry, before exploring the everyday wonders of the French countryside with Agnès Varda in Faces Places. Finally, cross borders and hearts through Argentina by way of Hong Kong with Wong Kar-wai’s Happy Together.
