Join us for a dance party celebrating Jerry Garcia’s life and music, featuring live and unreleased gems from the Grateful Dead as well as remixes of Garcia’s influences and those he inspired — all blended together by DJ Takimba. DJ Takimba will be blending and reimagining remixes from the Dead, Janice Joplin, Steely Dan, Jefferson Airplane, Deep Purple, Phish, Goose and more.

This dance party will also be a feast for the eyes, featuring Easy — one of Portland’s most amazing light magicians — paying homage to the old liquid light shows of yesteryear by Portland’s late great Gary Ewing, taking you back to the psychedelic heyday of 1960s San Francisco.

      Dancing to Grateful Dead music is my happy place- but it’s also my medicine … I’ve been doing it since 1989, when I first got on the bus, and I haven’t stopped since!
      When I dance- it’s as raw and real as it gets; it’s big and it’s beautiful … And my default setting is SPINNING- or TWIRLING !!
      Therefore, this appropriately named event seems brilliantly bespoke – for me.
