Youth Pottery Summer Camp

Begin a journey for your child into the world of pottery with our hand building Youth Camp! They’ll delve into the art of crafting captivating fairy houses in three different styles along with all the necessary accessories to make a fairy garden complete. We will meet each morning at Afterglow studio, 5340 SE Lincoln St. Once everyone has arrived, we will each day, walk our way up to the entrance of Mt Tabor were we will craft our clay fairy garden activity for the day.

Yunomi Tea cup Workshop & Tea Tasting

During this workshop you will get a lesson on how to pull the walls up on your very own handmade Yunomi tea cup. We will then fire and glaze your Yunomi tea cup to take home when it has completed its firings.

You will be treated with an aromatic tour through rare varieties of Japanese tea, direct from small farms in Japan!

Aya and Daniel will also be demoing traditional brewing methods & ways you can brew, to ward off the summer heat, all while tasting a selection of teas with from Chaba & Co. The perfect fit for your yunomi!

Kurinuki Hand Building: Charcuterie Board making

Come enjoy a night out with your pals eating a little “Girl Dinner” and drinking a “Portland Sangria”, while learning the Japanese technique called Kurinuki from Holly de Saillan. This is a two day workshop where you will learn the art of carving out a segmented plate from a single block of clay. Two nights of hanging out and creating a work of art you can use to eat all your future “Girl Dinner”s” out of.
