The Portland Youth Philharmonic Orchestra welcomes 2024 GRAMMY award-winning Imani Winds to perform “Paradise Valley Serenade” by 2024 GRAMMY award-winning Jeff Scott. After a thrilling world premiere of Scott’s “The Journey” in Season 99, PYP is excited to be able to bring more of his music to Portland.

Also on the program is Amy Beach’s too-long neglected romantic and harmonic “Gaelic” Symphony, which draws inspiration from English, Irish, and Scottish melodies. We will also hear the delightfully exciting “Strum” for string orchestra, by 2024 GRAMMY award-winning Jessie Montgomery, which will show off the powerful string section and have audiences clamoring for more of this rhythmically compelling work.
