Join Oregon Humanities for an onstage conversation with Eli Saslow, a Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist for the New York Times whose recent reporting has explored stories about addiction, poverty, and homelessness in Portland, Phoenix, San Diego, and other cities across the country. Saslow and host Adam Davis will talk about what he has learned about the challenges facing American cities and how Oregon fits into these national crises. We’ll also discuss the stories we tell about these crises. From what perspectives are they told? And who are they for?
The event will take place in-person at the Alberta Rose Theatre, 3000 NE Alberta St. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m, and the event will begin at 7p.m. Tickets are $15. A limited number of free tickets are available. The conversation will also be broadcast live, for free, on YouTube.
Have been following Eli’s work. Very curious to hear his thoughts, esp about recent legislation here.
