Northwest Marine Art Works (NWMAW) is opening its studios for a one-day event on July 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. giving the general public an opportunity to visit the studios where art is created.

With more than 75 studios and 100+ local artists and artisans participating, art lovers will find works from jewelry and apparel to paintings and printmaking, fine art, ceramics, photography, sculpture, mixed media and glass—all in one location.

Visitors can listen to live music and enjoy food and drink while watching artists demonstrate their skills and process. Live demos will run throughout the day.

During the past few years, NWMAW, a Ken Unkeles project, has quietly evolved into a major art center in Portland with 75+ studios and the addition of Building 5—a 5,000 square foot art space for site-specific installation, performance, interdisciplinary collaborative works, film and community exhibition.

This vibrant annual event demonstrates that the art scene in Portland is alive and well—don’t miss it.
