Eagles of Death Metal is an American rock band from Palm Desert, California, founded in 1998 by best friends Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme. The group has included a wide range of other musicians that appear on the band’s studio albums and live shows. EODM’s current touring lineup includes the ever-present Hughes, Jennie Vee on bass, Leah Bluestein on drums, and Scott Shiflett on guitar.
Despite their band name, Eagles of Death Metal is not a death metal band and is intended to be humorous. With a sound that’s a combination of ‘bluegrass slide guitar mixed with stripper drum beats and Canned Heat vocals,’ and a frontman in Hughes who is known for his over-the-top stage histrionics and evangelistic interaction with his fans, the band’s live performances are a sight to be seen.

Who doesn’t love a good show?
I have never seen Eagles Of Death metal ever and the last time it didn’t work out to see them. Ive never got to experience them live let alone a New Year’s Eve show to ring in the new year in my home town that I’ve always lived in and was born in. Today is 10 years since Bataclan and it should be a reminder to not give into fear and that music heals the soul.
