Reclaiming Black Joy events, hosted by Multnomah County and our community partners, offer a range of free activities including food, music, poetry readings, hair braiding and haircuts, community resources, face painting, photo booths, vaccinations and more. These events provide no-cost family-friendly fun at a variety of local parks and community hubs. Join us for our first event on Juneteenth Freedom Day to celebrate Black culture, resilience and joy!

Location: NW Leif Erikson Dr, Portland, OR 97229

Join AfroNature for a guided, group walk along Leif Erikson Drive in gorgeous Forest Park! This 2-mile out-and-back starts from Germantown Road Trailhead at 10:30am. Shuttles are available from two Portland locations (North and Northeast) to and from the trailhead. Shuttle pick up is at 10AM and registration is required for this option. The walk is suitable for all ages and paces and light snacks and water will be provided. Volunteers will be available for those that want to turn back at any point.
