Balloons Over Bend is a beloved Central Oregon summer tradition that fills the skies with colorful hot air balloons and brings the community together for a weekend of family-friendly fun. Join us July 24–26 for three days of balloon launches, live entertainment, kids activities, food, shopping, and unforgettable memories. The weekend begins with the Bend Night Glow Celebration at COCC on Friday evening, featuring live music, food trucks, a local marketplace, the FlippenOut Extreme Trampoline Show, and the Balloon Blast Kids Race. As the sun sets, watch as giant hot air balloons illuminate the night in a magical glow that has become one of Central Oregon’s most iconic summer experiences.

Throughout the weekend, guests can enjoy free morning balloon launches at R.E. Jewell Elementary School. Arrive before sunrise to watch pilots inflate and launch their balloons into the Central Oregon sky—a breathtaking sight for visitors of all ages. The celebration continues Saturday evening with the Redmond Brewfest & Night Glow at American Legion Park, featuring craft beer, food vendors, live music, shopping, and another spectacular balloon glow display.

Whether you’re cheering on young racers, browsing local vendors, enjoying live entertainment, or simply watching balloons drift overhead at dawn, Balloons Over Bend offers a unique summer experience that combines adventure, community, and wonder. Most activities are family-friendly, and the morning launches are free to attend, making this a must-see event for locals and visitors alike.
