I would love to win because my girlfriend and I have been cooking vegan together for 8 + years & it’s our dream to open a German Mexican fusion restaurant/ food stand someday to celebrate both our cultures. We are both in the food/ customer service industry and we both happen to have Sundays off. My partner and I are both vegan and we wanted to go last year, but we couldn’t afford tickets. This year has been a really difficult year for us. He had his car stolen, then he was laid off from his job and hasn’t been able to find work for almost a year now in November, and then my mom was in the hospital all of June and almost died. This would be the highlight of the year to win tickets to go to this event with some of our favorite vegan restaurants and chefs and have a nice night out. ❤️

I have been a vegetarian since age 5 but was always apprehensive about fake meat or smart meat .also the thought of vegan cheeses and butter sounded off but about 6 months ago my cousin took my husband (a big meat eater) and I to a vegan sandwich shop in portland. I was extremely surprised it was amazing. I love tempa. I believe I could switch from vegetarian to vegan if I tried more things. Also my meat eating husband was so impressed with his vegan sandwich he wanted to go back every day.

I just moved to Portland from Hawai‘i last week, and wow — the vegan food scene here is on another level. Back in Hawai‘i, options were pretty limited (props to the few places holding it down!), so I’d almost forgotten what it’s like to have artisanal vegan cheeses, pizzas, and basically anything you could crave right at your fingertips. I can’t wait to have my mind blown by the variety!

That was when he was in high school and now he’s 26. I prefer vegan now and 10 years later continue to cook primarily vegan food. It’s fun, easy, ainteresting and healthy. Vegan cooks really know how to use seasoning in place of animal products.

This is Baby Vegan, a relatively new vegan, about a year now, who has just dug into trying all kinds of recipes and tps and tricks and written some sexy pieces on Substack with a good group there. I’ve been on a health and transformation journey where I’ve been dropping weight and learning how to move prom a primary omnivore to vegan life and still get all my nutrients while having certain allergies. It’s hard, but overall! Worth it!

I grew up in Maine and began living a vegan lifestyle when I was a sophomore in high school… back in 2008/2009. If you remember/can relate, the only non-diary milk available was super chalky and hard to convince others to try. I could hardly even find tofu or tempeh in my area! I’m so thankful for how far vegan food alternatives have come and to be a new resident of this city, where so many incredible vegan culinary delights are available! I’d love to be able to attend Circle V and try some of the food from places I’ve yet to visit.
