Lively with restaurants and nightlife today, 100 years ago Portland was home to many less savory establishments – opium dens, brothels, underground speakeasies and kidnaping rings.  Our expert tour guides tell stories of infamous gangsters who ran entire underground criminal empires –  kidnapping unsuspecting sailors through an underground labyrinth known as the Shanghai Tunnels. Topics on this tour include stories about Portland first cemetery, the tragic and untimely deaths of many early Portlanders and the area of the Willamette River known as “the Pacific Graveyard.”
