For sixty years, World Forestry Center has stood at the intersection of forests and society—exploring how the health of one shapes the future of the other.

Join World Forestry Center for a special 60th Anniversary Forest Pub as we bring together a dynamic panel spanning forest management and science, conservation ethics, Indigenous stewardship, and the arts. Together, we’ll reflect on how society’s relationship with forests has evolved over the past six decades and how it can evolve to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Speakers:

  • Emily Brew, Founder, Perennial Strategy
  • HollyAnna CougarTracks DeCoteau Littlebull, Artist, Yakama Tribal Leader, Activist
  • Joe Furia, Executive Director, World Forestry Center
  • Sara Ghafouri, General Counsel, American Forest Resources Council
  • Michael Paul Nelson, Director, Center for the Future of Forests and Society, Oregon State University
  • Susan Prichard, Research Scientist, School of Environmental and Forest Sciences, University of Washington
  • Kristin Rasmussen, Director of Public Affairs & Communications, Hampton Lumber

Moderated by Joe Furia, Executive Director of World Forestry Center, this discussion will invite you to imagine what’s possible for forests and communities over the next sixty years.

At World Forestry Center, we believe forest stewardship is essential to thriving communities, resilient economies, and a livable climate. We create space to expand forest-focused dialogue, partnership, and action that honors tradition while embracing innovation and possibility.

This signature Forest Pub is part of our 60th Anniversary celebration: Rooted in our past. Resilient in the present. Rising to shape the future. Join us to raise a glass to the next 60 years of forest stewardship!

I absolutely love the Forest Pub series but I missed the last show due to the cost. I’m a Wildland Firefighter and a volunteer Structural Firefighter so expenses are tight and I’d LOVE to win this! 💚

Right up my alley, had a background in this and live in the middle of a forest. Sounds fascinating

Grew up around forests here, my grandparents were loggers, I spent the toughest summer of my life re-planting for seedlings on a hillside out near Clatskanie (backbreaking work!), and I’m really interested in where forests, their management, their uses and all of it could be heading.
