This April, PAM CUT @ The Whitsell is honored to host screenings of Pee-wee’s Most Favoritest Films! This wide-ranging series offers a fascinating glimpse into the creative mind of beloved entertainer Paul Reubens. Before his passing, Reubens gave documentary filmmaker Matt Wolf (Pee-wee as Himself) a list of his favorite films—ones he loved and ones that influenced his most famous creation. The six films include John Waters’ Female Trouble, Robert Altman’s Nashville, Jacques Tati’s Playtime, Billy Wilder’s Some Like It Hot, Elia Kazan’s A Face in the Crowd, and a special 11 a.m. screening of Tim Burton’s debut, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure.
Schedule:
April 5: Female Trouble (1974)
April 11: A Face in the Crowd (1957)
April 12: Nashville (1975)
April 18: Some Like It Hot (1959)
April 19: Pee Wee’s Big Adventure (1985)
April 19: Playtime (1967)
