Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical optical skills with excellent customer service, attention to detail, and a commitment to our mission. This role supports both patient care and the daily operations of our optical department.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required with advance notice.
Compensation & Benefits
Earn $18 to $25 per hour, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive employer-paid benefits package.

Responsibilities
Interpret and fulfill optical prescriptions in collaboration with eye care professionals.
Utilize optical equipment including pupilometers, lensometers, hand tools, and finishing lab equipment.
Measure, fit, adjust, dispense, and repair eyewear.
Accurately document patient orders and related information.
Guide patients in selecting frames and lenses that meet their prescription, lifestyle, and vision needs while educating them on lens options, coatings, and eyewear technology.
Troubleshoot eyewear concerns and ensure patient satisfaction.
Assist with phones, scheduling, customer service, and general office support.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming optical environment.
Support community outreach activities, special events, and optical program operations.
Ensure compliance with organizational standards and applicable regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Optical dispensing and/or finishing lab experience required.
Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, frame fitting, adjustments, and repairs.
Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and general office equipment.
Bilingual skills preferred.
Ability to occasionally lift 25 to 40 pounds.
Must obtain an optical certification (ABOC, CPO, or equivalent) within one year of employment if not already certified.
