Skip breakfast before your bike commute to work? On the last Friday of every month, volunteers pass out donuts, coffee and other treats for Breakfast on the Bridges, a tradition that is 20-years strong.
To prepare for The Big One, the city has built an entire city block in a North Portland warehouse in order to train volunteers for downed power lines, injured neighbors and other tragedies associated with an extreme earthquake event.
And a new report says Portland is the cleanest metro in the country, according to data related to population density, cockroach prevelance and water quality.
