From the misty, pine-covered hills of the Pacific Northwest hail the Bridge City Sinners, who span the continuum from prohibition-era jazz to Appalachian death folk. This traditional string band lineup bends the meaning of the word genre, playing festivals from Punk Rock Bowling, to Muddy Roots, to Oregon’s Bluegrass String Summit. They started their journey by busking on sidewalks across the country and now this supergroup of musicians find themselves on the national tour circuit. The Sinners still hold true to the DIY mentality of putting albums out on a self-made record label, Flail Records. With talented musicianship and a punk as f***! live show, this is one band you don’t want to miss.
Pete Bernhard (Of The Devil Makes Three)
Best known as the singer and primary songwriter for the band The Devil Makes Three, Pete Bernhard has been touring the US, Canada, and Europe for nearly 18 years. He hails from a small community in southern Vermont and a family of musicians and artists. His father was a singer and songwriter, his brother attended the Berklee School of Music, and his aunt was a local folk musician. Immersed in music at a young age, Pete was drawn to traditional fingerpicking blues and early folk music.
In 2001, Pete headed to Washington State, where he formed a duo with a childhood friend Cooper McBean and began touring the west coast. When their car broke down in Santa Cruz, California, they stayed with a fellow Vermonter, Lucia Turino, attending the University of Santa Cruz. Soon after, the band- The Devil Makes Three was born. Pete Bernhard has three solo records released on his record label Kahn Records.
