PEAKING: Psychedelics and the Pursuit of Happiness begins its theatrical release in Portland next Friday, September 25, at Cinema 21.
PEAKING takes viewers inside psychedelic therapy and healing, capturing rare, intimate experiences as they happen. Exploring LSD, psilocybin, ibogaine, MDMA, ayahuasca and toad/Bufo, the film follows people seeking relief from trauma, addiction and brain injuries, while leading experts provide context on the science behind the growing psychedelic movement.
Portland was chosen as the film’s first theatrical stop because producer Tracy Miedema Tengelsen is a longtime member of the Portland community. The film arrives as Oregon continues to be part of the national conversation around psychedelics, mental health and alternative approaches to healing.
Directed by 10-time Emmy Award winner Jordan Kronick, PEAKING opens at Cinema 21 on September 25, with a special advance screening on September 24 followed by a live Q&A with Daniel Carcillo, Jordan Kronick, Tracy Miedema Tengelsen and Erich Tengelsen.
