Summer is the season that music lovers usually must wait for to see big music talent on festival stages. But for a local group of festival friends, they decided that they didn’t want people to wait that long and started the Winter Music Festival.
Winter Music Festival founder and coordinator LeeAnn Gibbons and her music loving and festival following pals found themselves commiserating about the lack of music festivals during the colder months. “Why do we have to wait until summer?”, LeeAnn questioned. “Let’s do something!”, she exclaimed, and the off-season festival was born. It will be celebrating 15 years and has grown in popularity. This is due in part to the event’s ability to deliver a bigger and better show each time, along with strong community support. This upcoming year will be no exception showcasing world touring musicians and regional favorites.
The Winter Music Festival isn’t just about bringing quality award-winning music to the good months, it’s also about community. The festival has helped many charities throughout the years including children’s and veteran’s organizations. Proceeds from raffle and silent auction items this year will help Bloomin’ Boutique. The Oregon City based non-profit provides clothing, bedding, and personal care items to underprivileged children, empowering them to become confident, constructive members of their communities.
The festival offers two stages, two dance floors, a full-service bar, food menu and is 21 and over.
