The Moth is true stories, told live and without notes. The Moth celebrates the ability of stories to honor both the diversity and commonality of human experience, and to satisfy a vital human need for connection. It seeks to present recognized storytellers among established and emerging writers, performers and artists and to encourage storytelling among communities whose stories often go unheard.

Literary Arts is committed to keeping audience members, artists, volunteers, and staff members safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. For any events or classes that take place in-person through the end of 2021 we will require staff, volunteers, and audience members to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and wear a mask. Read full policy here.

This is a live in-person event only. No live-streaming or view from home option will be available for this event.

The Moth stories are what we need to hear right now – but to hear and to aid in our healing as a community – which we have not had the opportunity to do for so many months. Let’s gather around the fire and tell the stories that remind us who we are – as individuals and as the Portland community!

I love the moth because stories are what connects us, what makes us human, and gives us the empathy to understand others. ❤️
