Trio Subtonic is a groove heavy power trio out of Portland, Oregon that blends genre bending funk with slow burning underground soul jazz. Led by keyboardist Galen Clark, Subtonic explores a coalescence of rock, soul, funk, hip hop and jazz that simultaneously draws in listeners and pushes boundaries.
Citizens of the Universe are a funk/hip hop/afrobeat powerhouse! Based in Corvallis, OR, with members from Eugene and Portland, the Citizens have decades of history to draw on, featuring members of Eleven Eyes, Stairway Denied, Xenat-Ra, Huzzah, Future Sunz, and too many other bands to list.
The 2019 “Noon Tunes” Concert series kicks off Tuesday, July 9th in Pioneer Square. Noon Tunes is Downtown Portland’s longest running FREE concert series, and runs every Tuesday in July and August from noon – 1PM. In addition to the concerts, there are food vendors, giveaways, and more.
