Our Streets is a local nonprofit that addresses numerous aspects of the community such as environmental injustice, houselessness, food insecurity, civilian oppression and youth engagement in a way that aids our goal of creating a well-rounded populace.

Our primary operation is cooking and delivering meals 7 days a week to a number of houseless shelters throughout Portland. We are looking to hire a Kitchen Manager that will work closely with our management team and carry out both administrative and floor duties.

Job requirements & responsibilities:

Develop schedules for kitchen staff and delivery drivers that ensures coverage and maximizes efficiency

Create internal documents and spreadsheets such as inventory sheets, temperature logs, contact lists, etc.

Collect, itemize, scan, and file all kitchen receipts

Make sure all temp logs, meal counts and checklists are filled out daily

Design, implement and evaluate kitchen systems to ensure alignment with organizational goals

Attend and participate in all kitchen staff and administrative meetings

Participate in hiring process of staff by conducting interviews and scheduling training shifts

Train new staff on policies, procedures and assist them as they acclimate to their new environment

Operate computer and assigned software programs

Write daily kitchen reports and incident reports

Assist and support chefs and kitchen staff in day-to-day kitchen operations and closing/opening tasks

Job Benefits:

$24.00/hour, 40 hours/week
