This recruitment is to create a candidate pool of Office Assistants and will be used to fill various full-time, part-time, or on-call positions at Primary Care and Dental Care Health Clinics throughout the Portland Metro area. Locations

As Office Assistant 2, your duties may include, but may not be limited to:
- Clinical Services and Customer Service
-Obtains and/or verifies demographics, Race and Ethnicity information and insurance coverage utilizing multiple databases and updates registration and accounts in Epic Practice Management.
-Collects patient co-pays and payments on account balances following established cash handling policies and procedures.
-Reviews priority messages and takes appropriate follow-up action.
-Distributes forms and documents to patients, ensures all forms are complete, signed, entered into EDR (Electronic Dental Record) and sent for scanning as appropriate.
-Acts as the first point of contact for clients and other clinic visitors.
-Acts as liaison with treatment staff and providers.
-Help medical/dental programs increase patient access and engagement by utilizing a variety of outreach strategies.
- Clinical Support
-Monitors provider schedules to ensure appointment accuracy and to maintain a 100% fill rate.
-Schedules appointments according to program policies and guidelines.
-Documents patient related issues in EPIC / Wisdomi.
-Processes pre-authorizations and referrals as requested.
-Utilizes interpreters in-person or via phone as needed.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be as noted below. All non-traditional education, training and experience will be evaluated.
Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; AND
Experience: Three (3) years to six (6) years of general office support or customer service experience dealing directly with the public.
Multnomah County COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: To protect the health of the community and employees, Multnomah County requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious exemption as a qualification of employment. Preferred Qualifications/ Transferable Skills*: You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/ transferable skills to qualify. However, keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. - Experience providing professional customer service to diverse communities.
- Training or experience working with data entry, databases or Electronic Health Records Systems such as EPIC.
- Previous experience working in a medical or health related environment.
