Royalty Clerk

Dark Horse Comics, LLC is looking to hire an entry-level Royalty Clerk whose primary focus will be to produce licensor and creator royalty reports. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong computer skills as well as a working knowledge of MacOS and Microsoft Excel. We offer a relaxed environment in the exciting world of comics and publishing and are seeking to hire asap for our growing team.
As a Royalty Clerk, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Preparation and timely maintenance of quarterly royalty share statements
- Track and record outgoing royalty earnings and payments
- Navigate Individual Licensor web portal sales for earning updates
- Reviewing and analyzing contracts or deal memos for royalty template creation
- Royalty-related AP invoicing and payment reconciliation
- Complete initial and subsequent review of royalty statements to ensure accuracy
- Managing all royalty-related communications both internally and externally
Associate Responsibilities
Any other duties that may be assigned by the Controller related to positions development
Preferred Requirements
- AA/AS in Accounting/ Finance or equivalent relevant working experience
- 1+ years of applied accounting experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, multitask and work independently in a time-sensitive high work volume environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- This person should be organized, self-motivated, and a capable problem solver
- Working knowledge of Mac OS and programs is highly desired
- Strong working knowledge of Excel skills/experience or relevant coursework is required
- Knowledge of legal contract agreements is highly desired
- Experience working in the Publishing industry is desired
This is an entry-level position with an opportunity for growth. Salaries will be commensurate based on position level.
