The Libertine Belles CD Release, Pink Lady & The Tramps with beginner’s swing dance lesson at 8:30 at The Secret Society!

The Libertine Belles

The Libertine Belles are a female vocal swing trio based in Portland Oregon. Their set lists include vintage jazz music and original songs that conjure up Tin Pan Alley! Their specialty is three part vocal harmonies, plus 6-string tenor ukulele, upright bass, washboard and cornet. Sweet arrangements, haunting harmonies, and sizzling humor… these gals are much more than just easy on the eyes!

Dee Settlemier (the Midnight Serenaders) on Ukulele, Teresa Boyd (the Saloon Ensemble, the Ukuladies) on Washboard, and Carrie Baldwin-Sayre (the Jenny Finn Orchestra) comprise the core of the Belles, and they are proudly backed by Pete Lampe (Barndoor Slammers, Midnight Serenaders) on upright bass, and Jason Wells (the Saloon Ensemble, Trashcan Joe) on cornet. Career highlights include a full length CD, a regular monthly residency at the Secret Society Ballroom, the Oregon Country Fair, the Seattle Folklife Festival, the Waterfront Blues Festival, and Miz Kitty’s Parlour.

Pink Lady & The Tramps

Pink Lady & The Tramps are very closely tied to that sweet Portland jazz gang, Pink Lady & John Bennett Jazz Band. Front woman Pink Lady, who is a sassy mix of flapper, vamp and sultry siren, sings the songs of the Prohibition Era in this combo of handsome gents which includes vintage arch top guitarist Steve Boden, Wayne Travillion on double brass duty with Trombone & Cornet, Will Amend on Double Bass, Joe Haegele on Drums and Ralph Huntley on the keys. All together they have been playing that corruptive hot jazz for over 100 years! Yowza! So get ready to hit that dance floor and let yourself go!
