The Oregon Garden is excited to add snowless tubing to its award-winning “Christmas in the Garden” event, Nov. 25through Jan. 1 (excluding Dec. 24 and Dec. 25). This year’s event will feature 500,000 holiday lights, a marketplace with artisan vendors, carolers, an ice-skating rink, visits with Santa, and now, Snowless Tubing. Event hours and activities vary by date; for a complete breakdown, visit www.oregongarden.org/events/christmas-in-the-garden.

Upon arrival, visitors board the Holiday Express tram, where they are transported to the Rediscovery Forest festooned with 500,000 holiday lights, including a scene from the North Pole. Visitors can then shop from more than 20 artisan vendors selling handmade goods; go ice skating; take family photos with Santa; sip traditional glühweinor hot cocoa; enjoy the sounds of carolers singing festive holiday music throughout the area; and take in the smells and tastes of roasted nuts and traditional German foods. Fire pits and food and drink booths are scattered throughout the event, creating warm places to gather with family and friends.

New this year is Snowless Tubing, which offers a 150-foot-long tubing track designed to mimic snow tubing without the snow. The track will be set up on the hill in front of the resort before entering the forest. Tubing prices are in addition to event admission fees.

Event admission (in lieu of regular Garden admission) costs $8 for adults, $5 for kids 5-12, free for children 4 & under, $6 for Garden members. Silverton residents receive a free upgrade to an unlimited return pass with paid admission. Must show proof of residency. Each paid admission receives five $1 off vouchers to be used at booths throughout the market, excluding food and drink from The Oregon Garden booths (one voucher per booth, per purchase, per person). Tickets may be purchased on-site or in advance at www.oregongarden.org/events/christmas-in-the-garden.Ice skating prices are in addition to event admission fees. Monday through Thursday night session costs $10; Friday day session is $10; Friday evening session is $15; Saturday and Sunday is $15 during both day and evening sessions.
