Registration for the inaugural Ecliptic Beer Mile Run/Walk is now open. The race will kick off at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2015 and will start and end at Ecliptic Brewing. The Ecliptic Beer Mile is a one of a kind, one-mile race on Mississippi Avenue.

The one-mile race will feature an out and back course starting and finishing at Ecliptic. Runners will take off from N Cook Street and breeze down Mississippi Avenue with beer slogging in their bellies to the halfway point just before N Russell Street. Runners finish the race by returning up the grueling hill on Mississippi Ave to enjoy an ice cold brew. Stick around for an epic after-party complete with music, brewery tours and more!

Participants can register today at www.onemilebeerrun.com.  All participants will receive an official race t-shirt and two free Ecliptic beers (for all participants 21 years of age with valid ID).  With a capacity of only 600 runners, the race is expected to sell out quickly.

John Harris, the mastermind behind Ecliptic Brewing, is thrilled for the inaugural event: “I am so excited to be part of this new epic running event here in Portland. Running has never been more fun.”  Carrie Conway, Operations Director of CK Running, LLC, also echoes Harris’ excitement: “As a recent transplant to the Pacific NW I am thrilled to be a part of bringing this event to Portland. We chose one if the best breweries in the city for a reason and can’t wait for race day!”

The race will be partnering with the Oregon Food Bank as the official charitable partner. The Ecliptic Beer Mile will be collecting canned food donations at packet pickup and on race day.  All participants are asked to bring along at least one canned food item to the event.
