Friends of the Multnomah County Library 40th Birthday
Wednesday, October 17, 2012
6-8 p.m. | FREE | All Ages

Eliot Center, First Unitarian Church
1226 SW Salmon, Portland, OR 97205

The Friends of the Multnomah County Library are celebrating a milestone year! Help us honor the time and energy Friends volunteers have given to the library by attending our 40th Birthday Bash.

The Friends of the Multnomah County Library was established in 1972 following proposed cuts to the Library’s budget that would have closed 12 neighborhood libraries. And, for 40 years, they have provided grassroots advocacy and support to our outstanding public library. The Friends fund various programs and services at the library, honor library employees, and host events for library lovers.

Portland authors Matthew Dickman, Monica Drake, Karen Karbo, and Pauls Toutonghi will be on hand to wish the Friends a very happy birthday. We will also screen a special video, entitled Turning the Pages: Friends of the Multnomah County Library. Wine and nibbles will be served. And, there will be cake!
