@Lloyd Center DoubleTree, 1000 NE Multnomah Street

The Connecting Communities Coalition, along with Portland Habilitation Center Northwest, will host their third annual Connecting Communities event on Thursday, October 20, 2011. The event, titled Adaptable at Any Age, is a celebration that brings together members and advocates of the disability community – all a piece of the puzzle.

Attendees will enjoy interactive displays that feature adaptable technology products for a variety of realms including home, office, and sports, live performances and music, an art exhibit from artists of all ages and abilities, and this year's highlights from the Coalition. Food and wine will be available, as well as opportunities to sign up for volunteer projects that welcome individuals of all ages.

The evening will culminate with the presentation of the City of Portland Making a Difference Awards featuring presenters like Portland Mayor Sam Adams, City Commissioner Amanda Fritz, Nyla McCarthy, Chair of the Portland Commission on Disabilities, and Vail Horton, CEO and Founder of Keen Healthcare. The annual awards honor businesses, individuals, agencies and organizations that strive to promote the inclusion and advancement of community members with disabilities.

Bring your friends and family and come join us for this evening of celebration of Portland's outstanding disability community. Adaptable at Any Age will be held at the Lloyd Center DoubleTree Hotel in Portland, OR on October 20 from 5:30-7:30pm. Admission is free.
