Thursday, October 14: Classical Concert: Meditations Hébraique

The German American Society presents the classical music trio of Rebecca Rust (cello), Friedrich Edelmann (bassoon) and Vera Breheda (piano). Rust and Edelmann have performed in Europe and Asia, recently returning from a tour to Japan where they played at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo for the Emperor and Empress of Japan. They are partnering with internationally recognized Vera Breheda for their Portland performance.

Saturday, October 16: Cinema: Whisky mit Wodka

The German film displays a humorous take on the entertainment business. The film is funny but also displays a more critical look at society. A must for cinema lovers! A refreshing look at contemporary German culture.

Friday, October 22: Jazz Concert: Sebastian Schunke Group

Jazz fans should not miss this innovative group of musicians! Berlin based Sebastian Schunke is one of the world's leading young Jazz composers and pianists and is coming to Portland to perform his one-of-a-kind show. Schunke incorporates a modern Berlin Jazz sound with African and Latin American elements to create a truly multidimensional Jazz experience.

Saturday, October 23: Children's Theater: Feuer und Flamme
2 and 4:15 pm, Chapman School Auditorium, 1445 NW 26th Dr, Portland.

This theater company brings to our youngest, German language theater productions of "Polarsafari" and the classic "Das Doppelte Lottchen". Feuer und Flamme has travelled all the way from Braunschweig, Germany to stage a rare theater performance which is fun for big and small!
