Po Boy Art/Jason Brown and Chris Haberman Presents…..
OUTSIDE THE BOX
(art that escapes the frame)
@ PO BOY ART GALLERY AND FRAME SHOP (1421 Se Stark)

Opens First Friday — October 1st. 6-11pm.  Art exhibits through the month.  Po Boy is open Tues-Friday, NOON-5pm.

The Concept:  20 artists have been invited to "think outside the box" and create 3D works that "pop" out of the conventional art frame.  Each artist will create (1) 3D work (18"x24") and (5) smaller 3d works (8"x8" — for sale at $50) that will ALL hang on the wall.

Po Boy History
Po' Boy Art Gallery and Framing is now doing art show's every FIRST FRIDAY of the month since June 2010.  Jason Brown has owned Po Boy Art as a frame shop for many years, but recently he decided to join the First Friday art walk in Portland and convert his cozy warehouse space into a monthly art venue.  With the help and partnership of fellow artist and curator, Chris Haberman, the duo will run events in this space.  Brown is known distinctly for his tenure as curator of The Goodfoot Gallery (also in SE Stark) which has held large monthly art events for nearly a decade.  Events at Po Boy have been well attended (88 Strong 100 artist show, EMEK solo event, et al). Overall, it is a great community gathering space unique to SE Portland, and the Brown/Haberman team are pretty dang happy to be working together.   For LISTINGS, info: www.poboyart.com
