Biking is necessary for Portland’s health.

A quarter of Portland residents are obese and another 34% are dangerously overweight.
Biking is a low-impact activity that nearly everyone can do regardless of their current fitness level to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

Heart disease and stroke are the leading cause of death in Oregon.
Biking just 20 miles a week has been proven to cut the risk of coronary heart disease in half.

More than 1 in 10 adults in Portland are physically inactive.
Regular biking eases many of the issues that come with physical inactivity, including reducing joint pain and increasing muscle tone that can actually add years to your life.
